Plum, a health insurance platform, has partnered with Visa, the world leader in digital payments, so that its MSME cardholders can receive a comprehensive, affordable plan for their health insurance.

Small business owners who also have Visa’s business cards can get new-age medical insurance, doctor consultations, as well as a host other wellness benefits. The monthly plans start at Rs129 (per month, for the life of the card) Organizations with less than 2 employees can also benefit from the partnership, which allows them to have access to top-of-the-line insurance.

The lifeblood of an economy is small businesses. On international MSME Day, the two organizations gathered to renew their support for the health and well-being of the 460 million employees in this sector.

Plum’s co-founder and CEO, AbhishekPoddar, stated that the company was founded with the goal of reaching 10 million people by 2024. Our goal is to make sure that the segments who previously had no access to quality healthcare are now able to afford it and use it. Visa and our partnership will increase small-business owners’ adoption of health insurance, which will promote a wellness-first culture. Plum is proud to say that 80% of our customers are first-time buyers of insurance.

Two types of plans will be offered to Visa’s small business cardholders: the income advantage plan for SMEs, which provides a lump sum benefit on hospitalisation and ICU hospitalisation payouts, and a per-day cash allowance. The ‘Plum Lite plan’ for small teams offers health insurance up to Rs5 Lakhs, discounted medicines and unlimited doctor consultations. It also includes weekly wellness sessions and discounts for prescriptions.

For Visa business card holders, you can get a 40% discount for the Income Advantage plan and a 40% reduction on your first month of Plum Lite membership.
